It's practical
Practical exam today OMG. The quiz was kinda like a written viva, a pity that i never took much time to look through wat i wrote on my reports haha. Ok lah i can still score some of the no-brainer questions. That one is still ok compare to the actual practical.
Hellish lol. The moment i saw flash column chromatography the word "SIAN" immediately came to my mind. Got stump for a while by the way they wrote the procedure. So wordy, they need to use 100 plus words to describe "Put the dot on the silica plate and test for seperation". Since this is a practical exam, it's open to cheating HAHA. Words spread like wild fire when people know that they should use the "1:4 hexane/DCM mixture" or "the melting point for the compound is 219-220 degree" or "how do you draw the mechanism or do the exercise" or "Can your time X your UV spectrum to everyone" lol. It was open cheating in everyone's point of view. Sweet glory of cheating haha.
Spilled some of my compound so my yield was pathetically low. Got to borrow some from adrian *never to be return of course*, thanks a lot man. Need to redo my silica column and surprisingly, a lot of people are redoing lol. There seems to be something wrong with the silica gel and it is so annoying. In the end the kind lab technicians have to give us air-pump to speed up the process cuz everybody was behind schedule. The kind professor *i dont noe his name* also extended the practical by another 30mins for those people to finish up their reply. Yah, it was hectic. My feet are sore, mouth dry, stomach empty and face oily haha. So glad that the practicals are over.
Clara just called me with a surprising news. She said that there doesnt really seems a need to do the column chromatography afterall. Hmmm, but nobody dares to disobey the procedure in the examination booklet. I guess everybody just follow blindly haha.
Nothing sounds the same
When soothing words are just a way to bring comfort over self denial
And harsh words are so truthful that it hurts to accept them as facts
